Süßer kleiner Bungalow mit Meerblick mit allem was man braucht für ein Pärchen im Urlaub

“Das Gastgeberehepaar war sehr nett und hat jeden Wunsch erfüllt. Der Kontakt war sehr gut.
Die Lage ist gut, mit Meerblick. Der Parkplatz direkt hinter dem Bungalow
Der Bungalow ist liebevoll eingerichtet. Es ist alles vorhanden, was zu zweit zum Übernachten braucht. Das Bett ist gut zum Schlafen.
Das Frühstück war excellent, auch da wurde auf unsere Wünsche zeitlich und inhaltlich eingegangen.”

Opmerking van de gast: Für die große Tür gab es nur einen normalen Vorhang und keinen Verdunkelungsvorhang. Da neben dem Bungalow eine Straßenlaterne steht, war es nachts im Haus sehr hell. Zum Glück hatte ich dies in den Bewertungen gelesen und hatte eine Schlafbrille, die ich für Island angeschafft hatte, mit.. Aber eine doppelte Gardinenstange und einen zusätzlichen Verdunkelungsvorhang anzubringen, wäre unproblematisch.

“We cannot speak highly enough of Family Staal’s cottage. The location on the island of Faial was incredible - views of the ocean, peaceful, surrounded by farmland, animals, and vegetation. There was a beautiful garden out front, that we were welcomed to walk through, and given fresh flowers from upon our arrival! It was so tranquil, a little slice of heaven. The host was the type to make you feel like you were being welcomed to stay by an old friend. We had many friendly conversations and pleasant exchanges, and were given some local recommendations! The breakfast or ‘feast’ each morning was incredible! Local, fresh and homemade foods, delivered right to our door. The neighborhood cat who visited outside was also a plus! Don’t think twice about booking this. We will remember this stay forever and thank Family Staal for being an outstanding host. A truly special experience.”

“The Hosts were very kind and helpful, they made us feel like at home. Upon request we even got a breakfast to go! Excellent breakfast and nice to eat at our own little terrace.
The room was very spacious and comfortable. Close to nature, with birds all around and some cats. Appreciated the calm :)”

“The spot is absolutely gorgeous. It's a little cottage off the end of their property. It was a little difficult to find but the host came and directed us to the correct spot. The kitchen was bare, but had snacks available for a few euros. The views were gorgeous and the breakfast was very nice. We unfortunately did not have a very good night sleep, the cottage stayed about 10 degrees hotter than outside and was very hard to cool down. There was a small screened window, but if you opened the doors we got devoured by mosquitos. There was also not a top sheet. A couple adjustments such as a fan, screened door, and top sheet would greatly improve the accommodation.”

“Very friendly hosts (next door) and a great accommodation in the middle of a nice garden with sea view! The breakfast is amazing (never had 6 pancakes at 9 in the morning before). The interior is tastefully designed with nice details. Tiny but there is everything you need. The village Cedros is perfect quiet and peaceful for relaxing days in stunning nature.”

“The B&B was very clean, cosy and furnished with great attention to detail, and there were even fly screens on the windows.
It was in a quiet location with a great view of the sea. Our hosts were very warm and friendly and gave us tips on where to eat and things to do. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, with homemade bread, freshly brewed coffee, fruits, jam/cheese/ham and cake.
We will be very happy to recommend it to others and we love coming back here when we're on Faial!”

Auch das Häuschen ist mit viel Liebe dekoriert und ausgestattet worden.
Es fehlte uns an nichts.
Das Bett ist sehr gross und die Matratze wunderbar bequem.

Auch die Insel hatte uns begeistert und das Wetter war auch gut, manchmal bedeckt, aber wir fanden irgendwo immer die Sonne.
Es war schade, dass wir nicht länger bleiben konnten.

“Nice little cottage in a very quiet area. The cottage is just a bed and a bathroom with a little kitchen corner but with no possibilities to cook.
Mr. Staal is a very gentle person always available to quickly solve issues and help.
Very, very rich breakfast in the morning with everything we need and more.
Since we had to leave early the last day we were provided the night before with lot of things to make sandwiches for our trip to the next island.
It was a real pleasure to stay in the cottage. Thanks for everything!”

“Am besten gefallen hat uns die Lage, den Atlantik zu überblicken. Zu dem super war das Frühstück, dass die netten Gastgeber uns jeden Morgen gebracht haben. Die Unterkunft hatte auch einen Kühlschrank, so dass man sich Getränke kalt stellen konnte, um diese bei dem Ausblick zu genießen, wenn man abends vom Essen Gehen zurückkommt. Beim Eintreffen war schon vorhanden 1 Flasche Wasser (kostenlos), 2 Weinflaschen und 2 0.2l Bierflaschen und Snackriegel. Ist sinnvoll, für den Anreisetag, wenn man noch nichts besorgen konnte. Eine Möglichkeiten Essen zuzubereiten bestanden im Cottage nicht, was aber kein Problem für uns war.”

“Incredible hospitality from the host. We were made so welcome. A small chalet with, under usual circumstances a sea view, it was cloudy and wet for much of our stay.

The chalet studio was immaculate and had everything one needs for a short stay. Wonderful big bed. Parking next to the chalet.

Breakfast was provided in a hamper, beautiful with home made products. We left early on our last morning and were kindly provided with a picnic to take with us.

We enjoyed the location, a great position on the island, close to a pizza restaurant and small shop. An easy drive to Horta.”

“We stayed 3 nights in this charming Accomodation! It is furnished in modern nordic style with a touch of Azores character located high on the fields of Cedres lonely village overlooking the ocean! Awesome!... big comfortable bed with soft spotless clean linen and full view of the pasture, vegetation and the Atlantic!.. Fabulous! Mr Staal greeted us and made us feel at home right from the beginning... Very kind... Nice person indeed! A booklet full of info and contacts is available but he even pointed us more detail... market, very good restaurant frequented by locals, pizza.. all close by. A hearthy breakfast and homemade cake prepared by Mrs Staal is brought to the room and ate it in the outdoor area under the porch while admiring the beautiful scene in front of us. Thank you Mr & Mrs Staal. We loved our short stay.”

“Defilato rispetto al centro dell'isola (Horta) ma piuttosto vicino ad un piccolo market e alcuni ristoranti tra cui quello che a nostro avviso si è rivelato il migliore dell'isola, la struttura della famiglia Staal, dotata di un comodo parcheggio privato ci ha permesso di soggiornare in tranquillità, immersi nella natura. La grandissima differenza in questo caso però l'ha fatta il gentilissimo proprietario, sempre disponibile senza mai essere invadente, aperto ad assecondare ogni nostra necessità. La colazione servita al mattino sotto la tettoia è stata molto gradita e l'ultimo giorno dovendo partire molto presto ci è stata fornita la sera prima al sacco, per poterla consumare sulla nave che ci avrebbe condotto all'isola successiva.”

- The small charming cottage was perfect for me travelling alone and was just super comfy, clean and cozy with a nice terrasse where you can enjoy the stunning sea view and the lovely garden.
- The location in its quite and peaceful rural area but still a few nice bars/restaurants and a grocery store nearby (Xavier).”

Opmerking van de gast: Petit bémol pour les personnes qui ont le sommeil léger comme moi : prévoyez un cache-yeux car les volets ne bloquent pas la lumière du jour.
Attention aussi pour les repas, le village ne compte que 2 vrais restaurants et il faut réserver, nous avons donc fini par aller au snack du village qui n'était pas très bon.

“Tolle Gastgeber, sehr freundlich und aufgeschlossen. Perfekten kleines Cottage, welches super sauber ist. Super Frühstück mit sehr leckeren Brötchen und absolut sattmachend! Wird direkt auf die Terrasse serviert mit Blick auf das Meer. Wir können diese Unterkunft herzlich empfehlen.”

Opmerking van de gast: Für uns kein Problem: in der Unterkunft kann nicht gekocht werden. Es gibt aber ein kleines Restaurant in ca. 12min Fußweg Entfernung mit sehr leckeren portugiesischen, frischen Köstlichkeit zu fairen Preisen!

“Место расположения отличное. Двери дома в пол и, просыпаясь, ты видишь океан. Поют петухи утром, нет шума машин. Свежий воздух. Хозяева очень приятные, приносили завтрак в дом каждое утро. В домике было прохладно - все таки апрель - но нам дали обогреватель. Есть чайник и все для чая/кофе. На машине спуститься к океану буквально 5 минут. Представляю, как здесь уютно летом.”

- ⁠Bed is big and comfortable
- ⁠Shower has enough warm water and good water-pressure
- ⁠Breakfast tastes very good and its a big portion (eggs, joghurt, selfmade bread, cheese, ham,…)
- ⁠It is like a small cute cabin, you live there alone, owners have a house next to it, your parking spot is directly next to the cabin - everything is very private.
- ⁠There is a small terrace with nice view on the ocean.
- ⁠Restaurants are nearby (e.g. Local kitchen or italian pizza - but you have to consider the opening hours/days; you can also ask the owners, they are helpful to recommend sth.)
- ⁠The owners are super friendly and really nice people”

Wunderschönes B&B mit viel Liebe zum Detail und herzlichen Vermietern

“Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt im Faial Cottage B&B. Die Familie Staal ist extrem herzlich und alles wird mit viel Liebe zum Detail betrieben. Zum Frühstück war immer etwas selbstgemachtes (Humus, Kuchen etc.) dabei. Für die Umgebung haben wir tolle Tipps für Unternehmungen, Strände und Restaurants erhalten. Auf der kleinen Terrasse konnten wir jeden früh entspannt frühstücken und einen tollen Sonnenaufgang sehen. Jeden Tag wurde das B&B gereinigt, sodass alles jederzeit super sauber war. Wir können die Unterkunft zu 100% weiterempfehlen und würden auf jeden Fall noch einmal wiederkommen, wenn wir auf den Azoren sind.”

“This was such an amazing stay for me and my husband. The owners build this place with love and you can just see and feel that they pour their heart every day to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The breakfast is absolutely fantastic with homebaked bread and cake! 🤤”

“Great little spot to stay on Faial! We enjoyed the sea views in the distance while eating the delicious breakfast provided by our hosts. The property, while very minimal in amenities, had everything we needed for our one night stay.”

“Het ontbijt was voortreffelijk. Heerlijke broodjes en fruit en ook nog de lekkere zelfgebakken cake. Ook was het een heerlijk bed. En natuurlijk de vriendelijke eigenaren, zij hebben er echt een ontzettend leuk plekje van gemaakt, waar je heerlijk tot rust kan komen.
Het is zeker een aanrader als je Faial wilt bezoeken.”

“Wir haben unseren zweiwöchigen Aufenthalt im April 2024 in diesem süßen Cottage wirklich sehr genossen. Wer Ruhe sucht, findet sie hier. Die Gastgeberfamilie Staal ist sehr herzlich und stets bemüht, alle Wünsche zu erfüllen.
Das Häuschen hat die perfekte Größe für 2 Personen und ist funktional mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Das Bett ist äußerst bequem.
Die kleine Terrasse lädt zum morgendlichen Frühstück ein. Wir ernähren uns rein pflanzlich (vegan) und das war überhaupt kein Problem. Von selbst gemachtem Brot, Brötchen über diverse Aufstriche, frischem Obst und vielem weiteren wurden wir sehr gut versorgt.

“Unterkunft mit viel Liebe ausgestattet. Sehr sauber. Tolles Frühstück mit selbstgebackenem Brot/Brötchen und Kuchen. Auf der überdachten Veranda hat man einen schönen Blick aufs Meer und wir konnten unser Frühstück dort sehr genießen.”

“Estuvimos viajando por varias islas y este fue sin duda el mejor alojamiento donde nos quedamos. El cottage está en un entorno idílico, todo muy limpio y cuidado al detalle, cama muy cómoda, y lo mejor de todo el desayuno. La familia Staal nos trató como si fuéramos amigos y nos dieron muy buenas recomendaciones sobre cosas que ver y hacer en Faial. Un gusto encontrar sitios así. Volveremos sin duda!”

“The stay was great! Staal family was the most helpful hos I've ever met. They brought us food every morning to a table overlooking the ocean. They asked at what time we want to have breakfast and whether we have any dietary restrictions or preferences. Also were super helpful in getting around the island and recommended beautiful places to see. Even called us taxi to the airport.
The guesthouse had everything we needed and it was really nothing to complain about. The building and the furniture are new, very clean, lying on the bed you can see the ocean. All windows have anti-mosquito nets.
There is a beach nearby and a pizza place with a view of sunset.
Strongly recommend!”
