ABOUT US & FAIAL

We are a Dutch family - a composer/producer (website) and a former management assistant, with our beautiful twin daughters - who decided it was time for a change...something completely different.

After a long quest we found this beautiful island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. In 2018 we took the step, moved to Faial, and bought a house, abandoned for almost 20 years. An opportunity for sure, so we started our new adventure to build on a new home...and B&B.

The picture below shows the house how we found it and what we did to it so far.

Lucky us, unaware of the many micro climates on the island at that time, we ended up on the sunny side of the Island, in the village of Cedros, protected by the Caldeira Vulcano mountain.

The house came with 1500m2 of agricultural land, abandoned for many years too, giving us the opportunity to transform this property into our little paradise overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

We now have fruit trees, banana trees, a fig tree and we can enjoy our own tomatoes, beans and potatoes.

From our place we enjoy views on Sao Jorge Island, we can see the the peak of the impressive Pico Mountain and with bright weather we even see Graciosa Island, all from our own house, and now also from our B&B.

When looking to the south, we overlook the hills with on top the sharp edges of the impressive Caldeira vulcanic mountain.

Still, within 800m we find a supermarket, bakery and bar.

Faial offers a relaxed atmosphere, a mild climate, great and long summers, varied and impressive nature, and last but not least, totally fresh air.

With our B&B we can now welcome you on the island and show you the beauty we experience here daily. The picture to the right is the view from our house and the B&B over the Ocean, with Sao Jorge in the distance.
